Innocence Lost

by Wells

Today on my way to the office I saw a huddle of those guys in blue sweatshirts who give out free boxes of Quaker Oatmeal Squares to pedestrians.  They were standing outside a parked U-Haul next to a big pile of clear garbage bags filled with the tiny cereal boxes.  I guess consciously I knew that’s how those boxes got into midtown, but now I’ll never be able to believe that those guys keep crates and crates of tiny cereal boxes in their apartments and bring them to work each day.

It was quite a blow.
